What 'no filter' means when a product actually means it
Almost every companion app claims to be uncensored. The difference shows up in the middle of a reply, not on the pricing page.
The failure people describe is always the same. A thread gets graphic, the model starts an answer in her voice, and two sentences in it flips into a customer-service line about what it cannot help with. Where the line sits when you are actually in a thread
In practice you will not meet a refusal in an ordinary adult conversation, however graphic it gets. The limits are structural — ages, real people, illegal acts — and they are not sensitive to phrasing, so there is no ritual of rewording a message until it goes through.
The honest trade-off is the opposite of the one people expect. With nothing pushing back, a thread can flatten out fast, because escalation on its own is not a plot. Set a scene, keep some tension, and the freedom is worth something; skip that, and unfiltered just means faster to boring.
